We start with the Farmers. They tell us what is at peak perfection each day and we build our menus around that day’s harvest. The Max Chef to Farm dinner series presented by Rosedale Farms is an opportunity for guests to enjoy the freshest foods and produce in the sublime beauty of our celebrated farms.

Event Details - Max's Oyster Festival

Sunday, July 28, at Rosedale Farms and Vineyards, Max Catering will host a traditional Oyster Festival featuring Chefs Hunter Morton and Steve Michalewicz of Max Catering and Events, the Connecticut Restaurant Association's 2016 winner for Best Caterer, as well as the teams from Max's Oyster Bar and Max Fish. Enjoy live music (TBD), and slurp some oysters.  

The cost for adults is $89 (not inclusive of taxes and fees) and includes a raw bar featuring multiple varieties of oysters (see example list below), Cherrystone and Littleneck Clams, plus a variety of oyster specialties including grilled oysters, oyster stew, Savoy’s clam pizza and other specialties by Chef's Hunter Morton and the Max Catering Team.  

The cost for kids (12 and under) is $15 (not inclusive of taxes and fees) and includes hamburgers or Hot Dog, French Fries, Cookies, and Lemonade.

Cash bar (or credit card) will be available for sale and includes offerings of local craft beers, spirits, specialty cocktails, and Rosedale Wines. 

This event has two seatings - choose a 12:30 PM or 2:30 PM reservation time at checkout.

The menu will not be finalized until the day of the event, but in the past, this is what has been offered, and this year's event should be very similar - this menu is simply an example of what the day will look like and is subject to change based on availability and vendors attending.

Oyster Stew
Rosedale farm salads - Mexican street corn/ smashed cucumber
Oyster Rockafeller
Grilled Oysters
Rosedale Farms Seasonal Tomato BLTs
Savoy Roadshow featuring clam pie and other specialty pies
Shrimp cocktail and famous Baltimore shrimp (extra charge)
Kid's Meals with hot dogs and burgers, drinks and snacks

We will also have...

Oyster eating contest! With prizes
Cash bar with Mules, Tonics, and Spiked Teas, plus craft beers, seltzer & cocktails
Rosedale Farms will have a cash bar for their wines to buy by the bottle or the glass

Limited seating and tables are available under our tent; lawn chairs and blankets are recommended. A valid driver’s license or government-issued I.D. is required for entry and no outside beverages may be brought to the farm. Max's Catering and/or Rosedale Farms reserves the right to restrict or deny service of alcoholic beverages at their discretion.
